Dino and Trudy approached the school gates, their large footprints leaving impressions in the dewy grass. Dino, with his sleek, green scales glistening in the sunlight, bounced with excitement. Trudy, towering gently above, peered curiously at the colorful playground equipment.
"I can't believe we're finally here, Trudy!" exclaimed Dino, his eyes darting around with wonder.
"It's so different from the forest," replied Trudy in her soft, melodic voice. She marveled at the bustling scene, feeling a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
Dino squeezed into a desk clearly not designed for his size, while Trudy stood at the back, her long neck bending to avoid the ceiling lights. The children paused, eyes wide with awe and surprise at their new classmates.
"Hello everyone!" Dino greeted with a toothy grin. He pulled out a notepad, trying to mimic the other students.
"We hope to learn a lot and make new friends," added Trudy, her voice calming the initial shock of their entrance.
Dino leaned forward, fascinated by the squiggly symbols. "How do these numbers work?" he asked, his curiosity evident.
Mrs. Thompson smiled warmly, "Numbers can help us solve many problems, Dino. Let's start with something simple." She then began explaining the basics of addition, including both Dino and Trudy in her lesson.
Dino and Trudy found a spot at a large table where a group of curious children gathered. The scent of peanut butter sandwiches and fresh fruit filled the air.
"What do dinosaurs eat for lunch?" a boy named Timmy asked, his eyes wide with interest.
"I love leaves," Trudy replied, munching contentedly on a large salad. "And I enjoy the occasional fish," added Dino, showing a small container of sardines.
Dino and Trudy joined in a game of soccer, their presence bringing new energy to the field. Dino was quick and agile, while Trudy used her height to block the goal.
"Pass it here, Trudy!" shouted Dino, darting across the grass. Trudy gently nudged the ball with her foot, sending it rolling towards Dino who scored triumphantly.
The children gathered around Dino and Trudy, chattering excitedly about the day's adventures.
"We can't wait to come back tomorrow," Dino said with a smile, his eyes shining with the promise of more fun.
"Yes, today was just the beginning," added Trudy, her gentle gaze meeting that of her new friends. As they made their way home, the school felt different—more vibrant and accepting, thanks to the unexpected presence of two dinosaurs who taught everyone the true meaning of friendship.
