Dop knelt down, gripping his scouts stick tightly. With a determined squint, he flung the stick into the ground. The earth gave a gentle shudder, sending tiny ripples through the grass and making a cluster of daisies tremble.
"Did you see that, Stick? The ground moved!" he whispered, wide-eyed, as a mysterious breeze tickled the back of his neck.
The stick stood upright, quivering. Suddenly, the ground beneath began to glow with a soft golden hue. The wildflowers bent toward the light as if enchanted. Dop looked down, noticing a colorful kite string curling around his shoe.
"Where did this come from?" Dop wondered aloud, bending to pick up the string.
No sooner had Dop grasped the string than a sudden gust of wind whooshed around him. The stick, the earth, and the kite string all glowed together, and with a delighted gasp, Dop felt his feet leave the ground! Up, up, he soared, clinging to the string as the hilltop shrank below.
"I’m flying! I’m really flying!" Dop laughed, his hair whipping in the wind as the kite carried him higher.
The world below looked like a quilt of green and gold. Dop’s kite blazed with brilliant colors, trailing sparkles across the sky. Birds swooped nearby, chirping cheerful greetings. Dop waved at them, heart thumping with excitement and a bit of nervousness.
"Hello, birds! Have you ever been this high before?" he called, as the clouds parted to reveal a shining silver river.
Slowly, the kite began to descend, spiraling toward a secret garden tucked away behind a ring of tall trees. The air was sweet with the scent of honey and mint, and giant sunflowers smiled down at Dop. He landed softly on a bed of moss, the kite settling beside him like an old friend.
"Thank you, Kite," Dop said, patting the kite’s wooden frame gratefully.
In the very center of the garden, Dop spotted his scouts stick, but it was no longer just a stick—it had tiny green leaves sprouting from its top and shimmered with soft light. Curious rabbits and shimmering butterflies hopped and fluttered nearby, watching with bright eyes. Dop knelt beside the stick, feeling a new warmth in his heart.
"Every adventure begins with a little curiosity," Dop whispered, smiling as the magical garden buzzed with possibility.
