Dora and Boots tiptoed along a winding path, their flashlights casting jittery beams on the ground. Suddenly, a chilling wind swept through, and from behind a gnarled oak, a translucent ghost floated into view, its eyes glowing a ghastly blue. Dora clutched Boots's hand tightly as the ghost drifted closer, letting out a low, eerie wail.
"D-d-dora, is that a real ghost?"
"I think it is, Boots! Run!"
Dora and Boots dashed between the trees, their hearts pounding as the ghost whooshed behind them, its laughter echoing into the night. They burst out of the woods and spotted Geo Umizoomi standing near a glowing pumpkin patch, tinkering with a collection of colorful gadgets. Out of breath, they hurried to Geo Umizoomi, their words tumbling out in a terrified rush.
"Geo! There's a ghost chasing us! It's real and it's scary!"
"We don't know what to do!"
Geo Umizoomi put a reassuring hand on Dora's shoulder and gave them a confident smile. He remembered stories from past Halloween nights, when clever tricks had sent even the bravest creatures running. With a glint in his eye, he rummaged through his bag and pulled out a pair of ghost costumes, just like the ones Mr. Owl and Bubble Puppy had used to spook Bubble Guppies and Franklin the Turtle and his friends.
"Let's scare that ghost right back! We'll dress up as the scariest ghosts ever, just like on Halloween!"
Dora, Boots, and Geo Umizoomi hid behind the hay bale, whispering and giggling nervously as they put on their costumes. The ghost floated closer, curiosity in its glowing eyes, unaware of the surprise waiting for it. With a deep breath, the three friends leapt out, waving their arms and howling in their best ghostly voices.
"Woooooo! Beware, ghost! We're the spookiest ghosts in the woods!"
"Boo! Go away, or we'll haunt you forever!"
The ghost's playful grin vanished, replaced by a look of sheer panic. It spun in midair, letting out a high-pitched squeal as it streaked away into the darkness, past the glowing pumpkins and out of sight. Boots and Dora burst out laughing, the fear gone from their faces, and Geo Umizoomi joined in, proud of their teamwork.
"We did it, Dora! We scared the ghost away!"
"Yay! Thank you, Geo! That was so much fun!"
Dora could hardly wait to tell her mom everything. She described the ghost, their escape, and how Geo Umizoomi helped them come up with the perfect plan. Her mom listened with a smile, hugging both Dora and Boots, proud of their courage and creativity.
"Mom, you'll never believe it! We scared a ghost away, just like on Halloween!"
Dora’s Mom laughed softly, promising to make her favorite hot chocolate as a reward for such brave adventurers.
