Dora and Boots tiptoe along the twisting trail, their eyes wide and flashlights trembling in their hands. Suddenly, a translucent white shape flickers between the trees, swirling and moaning softly. The air grows cold, and the friends freeze, clutching each other.
"Dora, did you see that? It looked like a ghost!"
"I saw it too, Boots! Let’s get out of here!"
With a gasp, they turn and dash down the path, their footsteps pounding in the night.
Dora and Boots stumble into the room, breathless and wide-eyed. Geo Umizoomi, in a bright blue suit, looks up from a colorful puzzle, concern etching his face.
"Geo, we saw a ghost in the woods! It was floating and glowing, and it chased us!"
"Don’t worry, Dora! We’re Umizoomi, and we can solve any mystery together. Let’s retrace your steps and find out what’s really going on."
Geo Umizoomi leads the way, examining odd footprints in the mud and strange, glowing rocks on the ground. Suddenly, a bright green light flashes overhead, and a crooked silhouette glides between the branches.
"Geo, what is that? That’s not a ghost—it’s something else!"
"It’s an alien! Run!"
Panic surges through them, and all three sprint back toward the safety of their homes.
Dora bursts in, clutching Boots’ hand, and Geo Umizoomi follows close behind. Dora's Mom, gentle and wise, kneels down to listen.
"Mom, we saw a ghost and then a scary alien! We tried to solve the mystery, but we got too scared."
"It’s all right, Dora. Let’s figure it out together. Sometimes things aren’t what they seem."
The other moms join, offering hugs and reassuring words.
They follow the trail to the spot where the ghost appeared. There, they find a white bedsheet tangled in branches and a toy drone blinking nearby. Isa the Iguana and Milli peek out from behind a tree, giggling.
"Surprise! We were testing our new Halloween costume and drone. We didn’t mean to scare you!"
"We just wanted to see if it looked real. We’re really sorry!"
Dora and Boots laugh, relief washing over their faces. Geo Umizoomi gives Isa and Milli a playful nudge.
"Next time, can we help with the costume? No more midnight scares, okay?"
"Deal! Friends forever?"
"Friends forever!"
The children and their families embrace, the mysterious night now a funny story for years to come.
