Dora paused, peering ahead, her eyes wide with curiosity and a hint of unease.
Boots clung tightly to her hand, his tail twitching nervously.
"Dora, did you hear that? It sounded like… a moan!"
"It’s probably just the wind. Let’s keep going," Dora whispered, though she felt her heart thumping louder with every step.
Boots lets out a shriek and grabs Dora, tugging her toward the trail home.
"Run, Boots! Run!"
They dash, stumbling over roots and rocks, breathless as the ghost floats behind, groaning softly. The forest seems to close in around them, making the journey home feel endless.
"We made it, Dora! We’re safe!"
"We have to tell Geo Umizoomi what happened," Dora says, determined and still trembling. Together, they hurry to Geo’s house, their voices urgent and overlapping.
Geo Umizoomi leans forward, eyes sparkling behind his glasses.
"Don’t worry, Dora and Boots! We can scare the ghost away. We just need something super scary,"
"Like a huge monster mask… or a spooky sound machine!"
Geo gathers his tools, and the trio prepares their plan, each feeling braver together.
"Ready? On the count of three! One… two… three!"
The mask looms large, and the sound machine lets out a terrifying howl. The ghost gasps, his misty form trembling, and without another word, he flees into the darkness.
"Yay! We did it!" Dora cheers, her face bright with triumph.
"Mom, we saw a ghost tonight, but Geo Umizoomi helped us scare it away!"
Her mom embraces her, whispering words of comfort and pride, and Dora feels safe, knowing adventure and courage will always lead her home.
