Dora clutches her backpack, trembling, as a translucent ghost floats toward them, its eyes glowing and its wispy form flickering in the autumn breeze.
Boots grabs Dora’s hand, his voice shaking.
Geo Umizoomi looks around, searching for a way out.
"Oh no, Boots! Geo! There's a ghost!"
"Let’s run, Dora! It’s too scary!"
"I think we should tell a friend. Maybe they can help us!"
Dora gasps for breath, peering anxiously over her shoulder.
Boots stumbles, nearly dropping his hat, and Geo Umizoomi looks determined, pointing toward the cottage.
"We need to get help. Let’s go to our friend’s house!"
"Maybe our friend will know how to scare the ghost away!"
Friend nods, thinking.
"We saw a ghost in the woods. It chased us all the way here!"
"Don’t worry. I have an idea! We can scare the ghost back. Let’s dress up as ghosts, like Mr. Owl and Bubble Puppy did on Halloween nights."
Boots giggles as he drapes a sheet over his head.
"We look just like real ghosts!"
"Let’s show the ghost how scary we can be! Remember how Mr. Owl and Bubble Puppy scared Bubble Guppies and Franklin the turtle and his friends?"
Friend leads the charge, and the ghost trembles.
"Boo! We’re the scariest ghosts in the forest!"
"You’d better run away, ghost!"
The ghost lets out a frightened howl, spinning wildly and bolting through the trees, disappearing into the night.
Dora beams with pride, her eyes sparkling.
"Mom, we scared away the ghost by pretending to be ghosts ourselves! It was so much fun and we were so brave!"
Her mother hugs her tightly, praising their cleverness and teamwork. The friends share cookies and stories, knowing they’ll always be brave together.
