Elton sat on his bed, clutching Fante, his beloved stuffed bear. Today was the day he had been both dreading and eagerly anticipating—his first day of kindergarten. [@ch_1]Elton[/@ch_1_d]"I hope the other kids like me, Fante,"[/@ch_1_d] he whispered to his bear.
Elton stepped out of the car, his eyes wide with wonder. Ms. Lila, the kindergarten teacher, stood at the entrance, waving warmly at the new arrivals. "Welcome, Elton! We're going to have so much fun today," she called out, her voice as cheerful as the vibrant flowers planted along the path.
Elton held Fante close as he surveyed the room. There were blocks, paints, and a reading nook filled with storybooks. Nearby, a group of children were already building a tower with the blocks. "Can I join?" [@ch_1]Elton[/@ch_1_d] asked hesitantly.
Liam, a boy with curly hair, grinned. "I was scared too, but then I made friends, and now I love it here!" Sophie, wearing a bright yellow dress, nodded enthusiastically. "And we have the best teacher ever!" she added, glancing at Ms. Lila who was setting up an art project.
Elton grabbed some blue and green paper, crafting a small boat. "This is for you, Fante," he said, placing the bear beside his masterpiece. Ms. Lila admired his work, "That's wonderful, Elton! Your imagination can take you anywhere," she encouraged.
Elton felt a warm happiness inside. He had made friends, created art, and discovered the magic of school. As he gathered his things, he knew tomorrow would bring more adventures. "See you tomorrow, Fante," he whispered, hugging his bear tightly.
