Maya, with her curly red hair and bright purple glasses, races to the sandbox, a big smile on her face. Ben, tall and quiet, sits nearby drawing elaborate castles in the sand. Lila, wearing a sparkling blue hijab, giggles as she builds a tower next to Ben.
"Let’s see who can build the tallest tower!"
"I bet mine will reach the sky!"
Alex, wearing a bright yellow shirt and using a wheelchair, looks around nervously, clutching a book about dinosaurs. The other children pause, uncertain how to welcome Alex.
"Hi! I like dinosaurs too," Ben says, moving closer with a friendly grin.
"Really? I know all their names!"
Maya shows off her handmade bracelets, Ben shares his sandcastle drawings, Lila sings a song from her country, and Alex recites dinosaur facts. The children listen, their eyes wide with wonder.
"We all have something cool about us!"
"It’s fun to learn new things from each other."
Sam, a boy with glasses and a loud laugh, nudges his friend and says, "Why does Alex need that chair? That’s weird."
The laughter makes Alex shrink back. Maya steps forward, her voice gentle but strong.
"That’s not nice, Sam. We’re all different, and that’s what makes us special."
Sam looks guilty and says, "I’m sorry, Alex. I didn’t mean to be mean. I want to learn about dinosaurs too."
Alex’s smile returns, and he shows Sam his favorite dinosaur book. Lila suggests, "Let’s all play together! We can help each other and have fun."
The children cheer, happy to include everyone.
Ben says, "We’re all different and that’s what makes our playground amazing!"
Maya adds, "Let’s always be kind and celebrate our own kind of beauty."
Together, they promise to stand up for one another, embracing their uniqueness and sharing kindness every day.
