Hamish McEggs, tall and sturdy, surveys his land with a smile as he hoists a basket brimming with strawberries the size of footballs. His sons, Scrambled—lanky and clever—and Hardboiled—solid and jovial—race each other, hauling a mango that could fill a bathtub. The baby, Sunnyside Up, sits in a wagon, giggling and waving at butterflies that flutter above the crops.
Hamish McEggs wipes sweat from his brow, glancing at his children with pride. "It's a good day for sharing," he says, reaching down to help his sister from the wagon. "Let's fill the truck and head to town. Folks will be amazed by these beauties!" Sunnyside Up claps her hands, her laughter ringing out as they load the bounty.
Children dart between crates, marveling at strawberries too big for their hands and kiwis that require two arms to carry. Hamish McEggs stands tall, waving to neighbors, while Scrambled and Hardboiled hand out slices of juicy mango to anyone who asks. "Take what you need! No one goes hungry in Fartville," he declares, his voice booming with warmth.
"These are for you. May they bring you joy and strength," says Scrambled, handing a giant watermelon to a small girl whose eyes light up. "We grow these together for everyone," adds Hardboiled, gently offering a golden mango to an elderly man. Sunnyside Up toddles nearby, trailing behind with a basket almost as big as herself.
The McEggs family gathers on their porch, watching as the world enjoys the fruits of their labor. "It's not just about growing big, it's about growing together," Hamish McEggs reflects, his arm wrapped around his children. The air is filled with laughter, contentment, and the certainty that kindness can change the world.
"To Fartville, and to sharing!" cheers Hardboiled, raising a glass of fresh juice. The crowd erupts in applause, and young Sunnyside Up stands on her chair, beaming at her family. The celebration continues late into the night, with stories, laughter, and dreams of next season’s harvest.
