Little Aanya clung to her mother's leg, her wide eyes filled with a mix of curiosity and fear. Her mother, Meera, knelt down to her level. "It's going to be a fun day, sweetheart," she assured gently. Her father, Raj, ruffled her hair and smiled. "You'll make lots of new friends," he added, trying to ease her worries.
Aanya sat snugly in her car seat, clutching her favorite stuffed toy. "Look at all the colorful cars, Aanya!" Meera pointed out, hoping to distract her daughter. Aanya's eyes followed the flashing colors outside, momentarily forgetting her anxiety.
Aanya hesitated as they approached the entrance, her small hand gripping Raj's fingers tightly. Ms. Priya, the cheerful teacher, welcomed them with a warm smile. "Hello, Aanya! We're going to have so much fun today!" she said, bending down to Aanya's level.
Ms. Priya showed Aanya around, pointing out the reading corner and the play area. "These are your new friends," she introduced a group of children playing with blocks. Aanya watched them, her curiosity piqued despite her initial reluctance.
Aanya began to tear up, her lip quivering as she clung to Meera's leg. "We'll be back soon, my love," Meera whispered, giving her a reassuring hug. Aanya nodded, though her eyes were still misty.
Aanya found herself drawn to the colorful blocks, joining a group of children building a tower. A little boy named Rohan passed her a red block. "Here, this one will fit," he offered. Aanya smiled, the warmth of new friendship brightening her day.
Aanya spotted Meera and Raj waiting by the door. Her face lit up as she ran to them, giggling with joy. "I played with blocks and made a new friend!" she exclaimed, her earlier fears forgotten. Meera and Raj exchanged relieved smiles, their hearts full as they headed home together.
