Flossy stretched her wings, the vibrant pink feathers catching the last light of day. She had wandered far from her flock, and the once-familiar landscape now seemed vast and unfamiliar. "I must find my way back before night falls," she murmured to herself, determination settling in her heart.
Flossy took a deep breath, her mind racing with thoughts of home. "I remember crossing a place like this," she thought, scanning the horizon for familiar landmarks. Her heart skipped a beat when she spotted a distant hill, its outline just visible against the darkening sky. "That's the way," she affirmed, stepping forward with renewed hope.
Flossy moved cautiously, her slender legs navigating through the obstacles. The sound of rustling leaves made her pause, and her heart raced as she realized she wasn't alone. "Who's there?" she called out, trying to keep her voice steady. A small creature emerged—a curious otter with a mischievous glint in its eyes. Oliver, the Otter, with sleek fur and quick movements, smiled warmly.
"Lost your way, have you?" asked Oliver, his voice friendly and reassuring. Flossy nodded, explaining her plight. "I know these marshes well. Follow me, and I'll guide you to the river. From there, you'll find the path home," he offered. Grateful for the unexpected ally, Flossy agreed, and together they ventured through the night.
Flossy felt a surge of relief as the familiar sounds and sights of her home emerged. Oliver waved a playful goodbye before slipping back into the water. Flossy turned to him, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Oliver. I owe you my safe return," she said warmly.
As Flossy rejoined her flock, her heart brimmed with happiness. Her friends gathered around, their soft feathers brushing against hers in welcome. "I’m back," she announced, her voice filled with joy. The flock celebrated their reunion, and Flossy knew that no matter how far she wandered, she would always find her way home.
