Franklin the Turtle sits quietly at his desk, coloring a picture, while Miss Owl, his wise and gentle teacher, tidies up the chalkboard. Suddenly, a cold gust rattles the windows, and a translucent, floating figure—a ghost—drifts through the wall with a whoosh. Franklin drops his crayon, and Miss Owl's feathers ruffle in fright.
"Did you see that, Miss Owl?!"
"Oh dear, I most certainly did, Franklin! Run!"
Franklin[/@ch_1] and Miss Owl dash past science posters and a trophy case.]
Franklin clutches his backpack, his shell clacking as he sprints beside Miss Owl. Their hurried footsteps echo as they burst out of the classroom, hearts pounding. The ghost’s wailing howl grows louder behind them, sending both into a panic.
"We have to tell someone! Maybe Geo Umizoomi can help us!"
"Excellent idea, Franklin! Let’s find them quickly!"
Franklin hurriedly types on the keyboard, his flippers trembling. The screen flickers, and up pops Geo Umizoomi, a cheerful and resourceful problem-solver who appears in a swirl of blue and orange pixels.
"Geo Umizoomi, we need your help! There’s a ghost in our school and it scared us so much!"
"Don’t worry, Franklin! We’re experts in solving ghostly mysteries. Let’s team up and be brave together!"
Franklin[/@ch_1], Miss Owl, and Geo Umizoomi crouch behind the bleachers as the ghost floats in, searching for them.]
Geo Umizoomi pulls out a box of monster masks—gruesome, silly, and bright green. With a wink, Geo Umizoomi hands them out and counts to three. All together, they leap out, making monstrous faces and wild noises, waving their arms and stomping their feet.
"BOO! Get out, ghost, or the monsters will get you!"
"Yeah, we’re not afraid of you anymore!"
The ghost whirls around, cape fluttering, and speeds out through the wall, leaving only a faint sparkle behind. Franklin and Miss Owl giggle in relief, while Geo Umizoomi gives a triumphant thumbs-up.
"Oh my, that was remarkable teamwork!"
"Yay, we did it! Thank you, Geo Umizoomi!"
Franklin[/@ch_1] sits close to his mom, the excitement still sparkling in his eyes as he recounts his adventure.]
Franklin waves his arms, describing the ghost, the scare, and the brave monster masks. His mom listens, smiling, and gives him a gentle hug.
"And then we scared the ghost away! I wasn’t scared anymore, Mom, because I had my friends with me."
Franklin’s Mom strokes his shell and whispers,
"I’m so proud of you, Franklin. With courage and friends, you can face anything."
