Wyatt crouched low behind a bush, his eyes darting playfully as he looked for his companion.
Pepper, the black and white cat, watched with keen eyes, her tail twitching in anticipation.
"You'll never find me, Pepper!" he called out, stifling a giggle.
Pepper leaped gracefully from her perch, her paws landing silently as she began her search, her nose twitching with excitement.
Wyatt couldn't resist the allure of the bench and plopped down, his laughter echoing through the garden.
"Caught you!" Pepper mewed triumphantly, jumping onto Wyatt's lap, her eyes gleaming with mischief.
"You always find me, Pepper," Wyatt smiled, scratching behind her ears, earning a delighted purr.
"Maybe next time, I'll give you a head start," Pepper seemed to purr in agreement, her eyes half-closed in contentment.
Wyatt let out a contented sigh, feeling the warmth seep into his bones as Pepper curled up beside him.
"This is the best way to spend a day," he murmured, as the gentle lull of the garden began to lull them both into a peaceful slumber.
Wyatt stirred awake, blinking sleepily as Pepper stretched languidly, her whiskers twitching.
"Time to head inside, Pepper," he said softly, as the two companions slowly made their way back to the house, leaving the garden to its evening quiet.
