Geo Umizoomi stands near the slide, his eyes wide as the ghostly shape hovers closer. His hands tremble, heart pounding. "Wh-what is that?!" he whispers, voice shaky. Without a second thought, Geo turns and sprints away, leaving the haunted playground behind.
Geo[/@ch_1] bursts in, breathless. Soft lamplight chases away the night’s gloom, and a plush rug muffles his hurried steps.]
Milli, his best friend from Team Umizoomi, looks up from a puzzle on the floor. "Milli, I just saw a ghost at the playground! It was glowing and floating—I'm so scared!" "A real ghost? Oh no! But don’t worry, Geo. Maybe we can think of a way to scare the ghost away!" Geo nods, still shaken but hopeful.
Milli[/@ch_2] and Geo get to work.]
"If we dress up like ghosts, maybe we can scare the real ghost away!" Geo hesitates, then grins. "Okay, let’s do it! I’ll be the spookiest ghost ever!" They giggle as they cut eye holes and drape the sheets, transforming themselves into a pair of friendly, silly-looking ghosts.
The real ghost reappears, its glowing form flickering uncertainly. When Geo and Milli jump out, waving their arms and making spooky noises, the ghost’s eyes grow wide with terror. "Oooooo! Go away, scary ghost!" "Boo! This is our playground now!" The ghost lets out a surprised wail and darts away, vanishing into the night.
Geo[/@ch_1] and Milli toss their sheets in the air, laughing with relief.]
"We did it, Milli! We scared the ghost away!" "You were so brave, Geo! Let’s go tell your mom what happened." Geo beams, his fear gone and replaced with pride.
Geo[/@ch_1]'s mom stands by the counter. The overhead light casts a soft glow, and a gentle sense of safety fills the room.]
Geo rushes in, followed by Milli, both still giggling. "Mom, guess what? I was scared by a ghost, but with Milli’s help and a ghost costume, we scared it away! Now the playground is safe!" His mom smiles, hugging him close. Geo’s mom (warm, caring, proud): "I’m so proud of you, Geo! You were brave and clever tonight." The kitchen fills with laughter, and Geo knows he can face anything—with a little help from his friends.
