Geo Umizoomi races past the swings, glancing nervously over his shoulder. His heart pounds as he recalls the ghostly figure he saw near the old oak tree.
"Mom! Help! There’s a ghost!"
Geo Umizoomi’s Mom, gentle and reassuring, meets him at the entrance. She kneels to comfort him, brushing the sweat from his brow.
"Geo, what happened? Why are you so scared?"
"I saw a ghost in the park! It was floating near the oak tree, all white and spooky!"
"Sometimes, things look scary when it’s dark. Let’s think together—did you see anything else?"
"I think it was wearing something white. But it moved so fast!"
"Maybe it wasn’t a ghost after all. Should we go back and check together?"
Geo hesitates, but his mom squeezes his hand gently. Together, they approach the spot where Geo saw the ghost. There’s a white sheet tangled in the branches, fluttering in the wind.
"That’s it! That’s the ghost!"
"It looks like someone’s laundry got stuck. See? No ghosts, just a sheet."
"I guess I got scared for nothing. Thank you, Mom."
"It’s okay to be scared sometimes. But it’s always good to find out what’s really happening."
They walk home, the night now a little brighter, Geo feeling stronger and wiser.
"Can we tell Milli and Bot about my ghost adventure tomorrow?"
"Of course! And maybe next time, all three of you can solve a mystery together."
Geo snuggles close, ready for bed, knowing that with his mom by his side, there’s nothing to fear.
