Little Benny lay tucked snugly under his blue starry blanket, his eyes wide open as he gazed at the ceiling. The shadows danced softly in the moonlight, creating a magical atmosphere. His favorite teddy bear, Mr. Buttons, was nestled in the crook of his arm, providing comfort. "Mom, are you still there?"
Benny's Mom smiled, sitting in the rocking chair beside the bed. She had a book in her hands, the pages filled with whimsical tales. "Of course, sweetheart. I'm right here," she assured him, her voice soothing and calm. "Would you like to hear a story before you sleep?"
Benny's eyes lit up, anticipation sparkling in his gaze. "Yes, please! Tell me about the brave knight and the dragon," he whispered eagerly. His mom chuckled softly, opening the book to the story he loved most. "Once upon a time, in a land far, far away," she began, her voice weaving a tapestry of adventure and courage.
As Benny's mom narrated, Benny could almost see the brave knight, clad in shining armor, standing tall against the fierce dragon. "And the knight, with a heart full of bravery, approached the dragon," she continued. Benny clutched Mr. Buttons a little tighter, his imagination painting vivid images in his mind.
Benny's mom closed the book softly, noticing Benny's eyelids growing heavy. "And the knight, full of kindness, made friends with the dragon, and they lived happily ever after," she concluded gently. Benny's breathing was slow and steady, a peaceful smile on his face as he drifted off to sleep.
Benny's mom leaned over and kissed Benny's forehead tenderly. "Goodnight, little Benny," she whispered, rising quietly from the chair. She turned off the lamp, leaving the room bathed in the gentle glow of moonlight, and closed the door softly behind her, leaving Benny to dream of knights and dragons until morning.
