Gorda, the tiny black pomeranian, waits patiently beside her owner’s chair, her little paws tapping with anticipation. The promise of a new day fills the room, casting a golden glow on the checkered linoleum floor. Outside, birds sing as dewdrops sparkle on the fresh green grass.
Gorda trots outside, her nose twitching with excitement as she explores the morning air. She stops, ears perked, at the small opening by the fence, sensing an opportunity for adventure. With a determined wiggle, she squeezes through, her tiny tail wagging furiously.
Gorda pads along the sidewalk, her head held high and tongue lolling in delight. A little girl in a red dress kneels down, reaching out with a gentle hand.
Ella, a friendly neighbor child with freckles and bright blue eyes, grins at the sight of the fluffy dog.
"Hello, little one! Are you lost or just having a grand adventure?"
Gorda gives a happy yap and nuzzles Ella’s hand, her eyes sparkling with mischief.
Ella walks with Gorda into the park, her sandals tapping softly on the stone path.
"Let's see what treasures we can find today,"
she whispers, tossing a stick for Gorda to fetch. The little pomeranian bounds after it, her fur rippling with each joyful leap.
Gorda looks up, her ears flattening at the sudden change. Ella scoops her up, holding her close beneath a leafy tree.
"Don't worry, Gorda. We'll get you home before you get too wet,"
she reassures, her voice warm and steady despite the storm.
Ella sets Gorda down at the doorstep, and the little pomeranian shakes her coat, sending tiny droplets flying. The door swings open, revealing Mrs. Rivera, Gorda’s owner, with relief in her eyes.
"There you are, Gorda! I was so worried,"
she exclaims, scooping the dog into a warm embrace. Gorda squirms happily, her big adventure already sparking dreams of the next.
