Grandma Annie , gentle and kind, smiles as she smooths Danny’s hair. The room smells of fresh-baked cookies and the faint scent of lavender from the garden drifted inside. Outside, the last rays of sun touch the tops of wildflowers, promising a peaceful night. "Grandma, will you tell me a story from your Bible?"
"Tonight, I’ll tell you the parable of the sower and the seed, just as Jesus told his friends," Grandma Annie began softly, her eyes twinkling with excitement. "What’s a sower, Grandma?""A sower is someone who plants seeds in a field, hoping they’ll grow into something wonderful," she replied.
"Imagine a kind farmer," said Grandma Annie, Danny watching in awe as the seeds flow through the air. "He tosses seeds onto all sorts of ground, hoping each one will grow strong.""Do all the seeds grow, Grandma?""Let’s find out," smiled Grandma Annie.
"Some seeds fall on the path. The birds eat them up before they can grow," Grandma Annie explained as Danny watched a bright bluebird peck at a seed. "Others land on rocky ground. They sprout quickly, but without deep roots, they dry up when the sun gets hot," she continued, showing the little shoots wilting sadly. "Still others fall among thorns, which grow up and choke them, so they never make grain."
"But look! Some seeds fall on good soil—soft, deep, and ready. These seeds grow into strong plants and make many, many more seeds," Grandma Annie said, her voice full of joy. "Wow, Grandma! The plants are so tall and bright," Danny beamed, eyes wide with wonder. "Yes,Danny The good soil helps them grow, just like a kind heart helps God’s words grow inside us," Grandma Annie explained gently.
"Grandma, I want my heart to be good soil," Danny whispered sleepily. "I know you will, my dear. Just remember to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and to share His love and kindness with others," Grandma Annie replied, tucking Danny's favorite blankie around him. The stars twinkled brightly above them outside, as if Jesus was blessing Danny and Grandma Annie with His light.
