Little Ollie, a curious toddler with wide eyes and a perpetual grin, toddles along the path, his tiny hands grasping at ferns and leaves. Mama Jess, with her sun-kissed hair and an ever-present backpack, keeps a watchful eye, while Mama Lou, with her warm smile and gentle demeanor, walks beside them. "Look, a squirrel!" Ollie exclaims, pointing excitedly.
Mama Jess leads the way, her enthusiasm contagious. "Let's see if we can find some huckleberries today," she suggests, and Ollie nods eagerly, his eyes gleaming with anticipation. Mama Lou gently takes Ollie's hand, guiding him over roots and rocks.
Ollie squeals with delight as he spots the tiny berries. "Berries, Mama! Berries!" he cries, plucking a handful and proudly showing them to Mama Lou. "Good job, sweetheart," she praises, gently brushing dirt from his hands.
Mama Jess unpacks sandwiches and juice, while Mama Lou spreads a blanket. Ollie munches happily, crumbs dotting his cheeks. "What was your favorite part of the morning, Ollie?" Mama Jess asks, and Ollie, with a thoughtful tilt of his head, replies, "The squirrel and the berries."
Mama Lou carries a sleepy Ollie, who leans his head against her shoulder. "We should do this more often," she murmurs to Mama Jess, who nods in agreement, her heart full.
Mama Jess opens a storybook, and Mama Lou wraps a soft blanket around them. Ollie listens intently, his eyelids drooping with sleep. "And they lived happily ever after," Mama Jess concludes, kissing Ollie's forehead.
