Harry stands at the edge of the path, clutching his mom’s hand tightly. His eyes are wide with worry, his little backpack looking almost too big for his shoulders. "Mama, I don't want to go," he whispers, his voice barely more than a breath. His mother bends down, wrapping him in a gentle hug beneath the leafy branches. She smiles, her voice reassuring. "You're feeling nervous, sweetie. It's normal to feel that way on your first day."
Harry walks beside his mom, peeking cautiously into his new classroom. Inside, children find their seats and parents say their goodbyes. Teacher Lauren stands near the door, her warm smile welcoming every child. "Hi Harry, welcome! Come meet your new friends," she says, her eyes twinkling kindly.

Teacher Lauren kneels beside him, her voice soft. "It's okay to feel nervous. Everyone's feeling it today – it's our first day! What made you feel nervous, Harry?" Harry glances at the floor, his fingers twisting his sleeve. "I don't know anyone... and I don't know the rules," he admits quietly.
Teacher Lauren nods understandingly. "We can fix that! Let's introduce ourselves. What's your favorite thing to do?" Harry pauses, thinking. "I like painting, playing with blocks and the sandpit!" The mention of favorite activities brings a few smiles from nearby classmates.
Teacher Lauren grins. "We have a big block corner! Want to help me set it up?" Harry nods, accepting a small stack of blocks. As he arranges them, a boy with a friendly grin approaches. Max, his new classmate, gestures to the tower. "I'm Max. Want to build a castle?" Harry feels his nerves slip away as he joins in.
Harry laughs as the castle grows taller, forgetting his worries. Teacher Lauren claps gently, gathering the children’s attention. "Time for story time! Find a cozy spot," she announces. Harry settles into a soft corner, his heart lightening as he glances around at his new classmates.
Teacher Lauren reads about a brave knight exploring a new land, her voice weaving magic through the room. "What do you think the knight felt?" she asks, looking out at the sea of eager faces. Harry raises his hand for the first time. "Nervous... but excited!" The other children nod in agreement.
Teacher Lauren smiles warmly at Harry. "Exactly! It's okay to feel both. Break time is next and it’s time to play outside," she announces. The class cheers, bursting with anticipation for outdoor adventure.
Harry runs out, feeling the sun warm his face as he sprints to the slide. He glides down, shouting "Wheeee!", his voice blending with Max's laughter. "Let's do it again!" Together they climb and slide, their new friendship blossoming.
Harry beams with pride as he returns inside. He turns to Teacher Lauren, his voice bright. "I did it! I was nervous, but I'm happy now," he says. Teacher Lauren gives him a proud nod. "You're brave, Harry. Everyone's first day is special. You're part of our class now!"

Harry grins up at his mom, excitement bubbling inside him. "I'll go back tomorrow," he says with certainty. His mom smiles, squeezing his hand. "You're growing, Harry." And as they walk, the possibilities of tomorrow stretch out before them, bright and full of promise.
