Henry blinked as the light nudged him from sleep. The room smelled faintly of lavender, and his teddy bear sat nearby, watching with button eyes. Outside, birds chirped their morning songs, promising a new adventure.
Henry heard footsteps and saw his dad standing by the doorway, smiling warmly. "Good morning, Henry! Let’s get you ready for your first day at daycare," his dad said, voice full of excitement. With gentle hands, his dad helped him into a sky-blue shirt and comfy pants.
Henry took his dad’s hand, feeling brave yet curious. The world outside seemed big and bright, with cars humming softly and neighbors waving hello. He hugged his teddy bear tight as they walked toward the waiting car.
Henry peeked out from behind his dad, eyes wide at the lively scene. His dad knelt beside him and offered reassuring words. "You’re going to have so much fun today, Henry. I’ll be back soon to hear all about it,"
Henry shuffled in, feeling shy but eager. A friendly teacher waved and knelt to his level. "Hello, Henry! Would you like to build a tower or read a story?" Henry nodded, choosing to stack blocks, and soon other children joined him, sharing laughter and ideas.
Henry found himself drawing a bright red car and singing along to a catchy tune. He made a new friend named Mia, who showed him her favorite picture book. For a moment, Henry forgot he was nervous, feeling happy and safe in the colorful world of daycare.
Henry spotted his dad and ran into his arms, grinning. "I made new friends, Daddy! And we built a tall tower!" His dad listened with pride, and together they walked home, Henry’s heart full of wonder and joy, ready for tomorrow’s adventure.
