Jake sighed, staring at his homework in Max's food bowl. "In reality, homework isn’t food," he said, glancing at his loyal dog. Max wagged his tail, his eyes fixed on the couch. "I should do it rather than tricking my teacher…" Jake muttered, eyeing the endless math problems.
Max sniffed the paper but refused to eat it, his focus unwavering on the couch. "You just wanted to persuade me to let you on the couch!" Jake groaned, realizing the cleverness of his furry companion. Max wagged his tail, victorious in his silent negotiation.
Jake laughed, relenting to Max's unspoken request. "Fine, the entire couch is yours." Max jumped up, settling into his favorite spot with a contented sigh. Jake picked up his pencil, ready to tackle the math problems before him.
Jake felt a renewed determination to defend his grade the right way. With Max happily lounging on the couch, Jake immersed himself in his studies, knowing that his hard work would pay off. The rhythmic scratching of his pencil filled the room, a comforting sound of progress and dedication.
