Hugo loved splashing in the cool water and feeling the warm sun on his back. Today, his adventurous spirit led him a bit further from his family than usual, but he was too busy giggling at the bubbles he made to notice.
"Wow, what a magical place!" exclaimed Hugo, his wide mouth curving into a smile as he trotted along the leafy path.
Suddenly, a rustling noise caught his attention, and out flitted Lola, a parrot with vibrant feathers.
"Hello there, little hippo! I'm Lola, the chattiest parrot in the jungle. What brings you here?"
"I'm Hugo, just exploring! But I think I might be a little lost," admitted Hugo, glancing around.
"Don't worry! I'll help you find your way," chirped Lola, flapping her wings energetically.
"Look at those funny plants!" giggled Hugo, nudging a plant that puffed out a cloud of glittering pollen.
"Oh, that's the giggle plant! It always makes me laugh too!" laughed Lola, her voice echoing through the trees.
"Follow me, I know someone who might help!"
Gary, the turtle, looked up as Hugo and Lola approached. "Oh dear, visitors!" he exclaimed, wobbling a bit.
"Gary, this is Hugo. He's lost and needs our help!"
"Of course! Oh, but watch out for the—" Gary began, just as he slipped and landed in a patch of soft mud.
"I think I hear the river!" said Hugo, his heart filled with hope.
"Yes, we're nearly there!" trilled Lola, flitting from branch to branch.
"Just a little further, Hugo," encouraged Gary, keeping pace despite his clumsiness.
Hugo rushed forward, his small legs carrying him as fast as they could. "Mom! Dad! I'm back!" he called out, his voice filled with joy.
His family turned, their faces lighting up as they welcomed him back with happy splashes and nuzzles.
"Mission accomplished!" sang Lola, landing on a nearby branch.
"Yes, we did it!" agreed Gary, smiling despite being a bit muddy.
