Jane brushed her lovely blonde hair away from her freckled cheeks, her eyes sparkling with excitement. She knelt beside her little black cat, Hope, who wore a bright yellow collar and peered curiously from her carrier. "Are you ready for our Paris adventure, Hope? We've packed everything we need, including your favorite treats,""Meow!" replied Hope, her tail flicking with anticipation. Leaving the beautiful cottage behind they both set off to the train station a short walk from their house. Jane carried her rucksack with a snack for the train and a camera to take some wonderful photos of their adventure. A bottle of water for her and Hope to share and her map of Paris. She could not wait!.
Jane watched the changing scenery, her heart beating faster with every mile closer to Paris. She was excited when they went under the Eurostar tunnel and popped out the other end!. She checked on Hope, making sure her little companion was comfortable. "Look, Hope, we're nearly there. I wonder what Paris will look like,""Purrr," replied Hope, curling up in her carrier.
Jane stepped onto the platform, her rucksack slung over her shoulder, as Hope gazed out from her carrier in awe. Sunlight glinted off the polished floors and the city outside beckoned. "We're in Paris, Hope! Let's start our adventure,"
As Jane and Hope start to explore the city the first place they head is along the Champs Elise to the Eiffel Tower. They started to climb up the stairs and were soon starting to feel out of breath, phew it is a long way up Hope! Finally Jane got them to the top of the tower. They both had the wind blowing through Jane's blonde hair and Hope's black fur, when all of a sudden Phillipe the French pigeon lands beside them, his feathers sleek and eyes friendly. He speaks with a charming French accent, bowing slightly. "Bonjour, mes amis! I am Phillipe, your guide today. Did you know the Eiffel Tower was built in 1889 for the World's Fair?""Wow, thank you, Phillipe! Can you show us more?""Mais oui! Follow me, and I shall teach you the secrets of Paris,"
Phillipe leads Jane and Hope through the museum halls, pointing out famous masterpieces and telling stories of history. At Notre Dame, he shares tales of the bells and the brave hunchback. "For the best croissant in Paris, we must visit my favorite bakery," Jane and Hope choose the biggest and flakiest croissant on the menu and a milkshake to share. Jane takes a bite and says, "This is amazing, Phillipe! I've never tasted anything so delicious,""Mmmrrrow," purred Hope, nibbling a tiny crumb. As they all sit at a table outside admiring the trees around them and watching as the French people rush by them in all directions they finish off their wonderful food.
Phillipe flutters his wings, preparing to leave. He smiles kindly, giving a final tip about the city's hidden gardens. "Au revoir, mes amis! Another tourist awaits my help. Enjoy your last moments in Paris,""Thank you, Phillipe! We'll never forget you,""Meow!"
Jane sips her milkshake, while Hope stretches on her lap. Eventually they get up to do the last bit of shopping they need before heading back to the train. The city hums softly, and laughter drifts on the breeze. Jane buys Hope a new collar in red and she gets herself a beret in the same matching red. They meander through shops and little streets enjoying the last of the sunshine and the french capital city. "Well, Hope, what an adventure we've had," she smiles, glancing at their new magnet. Together, they watch the lights sparkle on the Seine before heading back to the train, hearts full and ready to return to their beautiful English cottage.
