Jelly watched as butterflies danced above the roses, their wings shimmering like tiny rainbows. She felt a restless tug in her heart. Ordinary dogs chased balls and napped in the shade, but she longed for something more. "Why can’t I touch the sky like those butterflies?" she whispered.
Soft feathers sprouted from Jelly's back, unfurling into magnificent wings adorned with pastel hues. Her tail wagged in disbelief, and she blinked at the newfound appendages. The wind seemed to beckon her forward. "Is this real? I have wings!" she exclaimed, her voice trembling with excitement.
Jelly took a deep breath, feeling the cool breeze ruffle her feathers. With a leap, she soared above the daisies, her paws barely grazing the tops of tulips. The world below seemed to shrink as she climbed higher. "I’m flying!" she shouted, laughter bubbling from her chest.
She spotted a family of gray mice nibbling clover beneath a lilac bush and waved at a pair of robins perched near the birdbath. Every sight was new, every scent thrilling. She realized how much she’d missed when she was just an ordinary dog. "There’s a whole world up here!" she marveled.
Fear prickled along Jelly's spine, but determination burned in her eyes. She remembered the butterflies and birds who flew through storms, undaunted. Gritting her teeth, she adjusted her wings and pushed forward. "I won’t let anything stop me. I belong in the sky," she declared.
Neighbors peer over the fence, amazed by the flying dog. Jelly smiles, feeling proud and free. She knows she will never settle for being ordinary again. "From now on, I’ll soar wherever my dreams take me," she whispered, gazing at the open sky.
