Joseph stood in the middle of his family's courtyard, a gleaming smile lighting up his face. His father, Jacob, had just gifted him a beautiful coat made of many colors. The coat shimmered in the sunlight, each hue more vibrant than the last. "Thank you, Father! It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen," he exclaimed, twirling around to let the coat fan out around him.
Reuben, the eldest, crossed his arms and frowned. "Why does Joseph always get special treatment? It's just a coat, yet Father acts like it's a treasure," he grumbled. The others nodded in agreement, their eyes lingering on the coat with envy.
Reuben leaned in, his voice low and conspiratorial. "We need to do something to show Father that Joseph isn't as special as he thinks," he proposed. The brothers exchanged glances, slowly nodding as a plan formed amidst the crackling firewood.
Joseph lagged behind, lost in dreams and stories of what he could become. Meanwhile, Reuben and the others captured a goat from their flock, their hands steady as they carried out their devious plan. Soon, the coat was covered in crimson, a grim testament to their jealousy.
"We found this. We fear a wild animal has taken Joseph," one of the brothers said, his voice heavy with false grief. Jacob's face paled, and he clutched the coat to his chest, tears streaming down his face as he mourned his beloved son.
Joseph, unaware of his brothers' deceit, sat beneath a tree, gazing up at the stars. In his heart, he held no malice, only dreams of a brighter future. He didn't know that one day, his journey would lead to forgiveness and reconciliation. "I wonder what adventures tomorrow will bring," he mused aloud, his voice carrying softly into the night.
