Maya snuggled under her blankets, her imagination already drifting into the cosmos as her older sister, Lila, whispered stories of distant galaxies. "Imagine what it would be like to fly past the moon," she mused.
Maya found herself soaring, the cool, crisp air rushing past her cheeks as she zoomed past the moon, its surface a glowing silver beneath her. "Wow, it's so beautiful!" she exclaimed, the moon's craters like gentle dips in a celestial landscape.
Maya veered towards a nearby planet, its surface shimmering with shades of blue and green. As she approached, she felt a welcoming warmth, like a friendly greeting from an old friend. "Hello, little traveler," the planet seemed to whisper, its rings spinning lazily in greeting.
Maya paused mid-flight, her eyes wide with wonder as she dipped her hand into the milky river of stars, scooping up a handful of cereal-shaped stars. "Mmm, cosmic cereal," she giggled, the taste of stardust and sweetness dancing on her tongue.
As Maya floated back towards her room, the stars began to dim, and the comforting glow of her nightlight reappeared. She landed softly in her bed, her heart still racing with excitement, "I can't wait to tell Lila all about it," she thought, already dreaming of her next adventure.
Lila shook Maya gently awake, her eyes twinkling with curiosity. "Did you dream of flying past the moon?" she asked, and Maya nodded with a secretive smile, knowing that her adventure was more than just a dream.
