Kaia loved the mess of her playroom. Her blocks towered haphazardly, stuffies lay in a cuddle pile, and dolls were dressed in mismatched clothes. She reveled in the chaos until she heard a tiny voice. "We can’t find our way back to our homes!" The voice was faint, like a whisper in the wind.
Kaia squinted and leaned closer, her eyes widening at the sight of tiny fairies fluttering beneath her blocks and stuffies. One fairy, with golden wings, looked up at her with a worried expression. "You made such a mess that we’re lost," she explained, her voice tinged with hope.
Determined to help, Kaia set to work. She placed the blocks back in their bin, and the fairies twirled with joy. As she lined her stuffies neatly on the bed, more fairies emerged, their wings sparkling with gratitude. Her room slowly transformed, each fairy’s cheer echoing the magic of her efforts.
Her mom entered the room and paused in amazement. "Wow, Kaia! Your room looks amazing!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with pride. Kaia beamed, her heart light with the secret knowledge of the fairies’ presence. She had discovered the joy of helping.
Later, in the kitchen, Kaia found herself hesitating when her mom asked for help with snacks. Remembering the fairies, she nodded and joined in, finding delight in plucking herbs and stirring dip. Her mom called her a "super helper," and Kaia felt magic in her hands.
As night fell, Kaia climbed into bed, her heart full. She noticed tiny footprints on her pillow and heard the golden-winged fairy's voice. "Thank you for helping us," the fairy said. "When you help, you make magic happen." Kaia knew, from then on, that her hands held the power to create magic every day.
