Three-year-old Khushi bounced with excitement as Mama helped her into a new pink frock and tiny shoes. Mama tied Khushi's hair into two cute ponytails, gently brushing aside a stray curl. The little girl beamed as she admired her reflection, clutching her lunchbox containing her favorite chocolate and paratha.
Papa parked the car and walked Khushi to the school gate. Her smile began to waver as she noticed the sea of unfamiliar faces. Some children laughed and played, while others clung to their parents, tears in their eyes. "Mama, I want to go home," she whispered, clutching her little lunchbox tightly.
Mama smiled softly, her eyes full of understanding. "Just play for a little while, and if you don't like it, I'll take you home," she assured. Khushi nodded hesitantly and took a deep breath, her small feet carrying her slowly towards the classroom door.
Inside the classroom, Khushi's eyes widened at the sight of colorful toys and smiling faces. The teacher welcomed her with a warm smile and handed her a puzzle. Timid at first, Khushi soon found herself engrossed in the game and was joined by Riya, a cheerful little girl with pigtails.
Khushi and Riya giggled as they built a tall tower together, their initial shyness replaced by newfound friendship. "Let's make it taller!" Riya exclaimed, and Khushi nodded eagerly, her earlier nervousness forgotten.
When the school bell rang, Khushi rushed out to find Mama, her face lit with excitement. "I want to come back tomorrow!" she declared, her voice filled with joy and confidence. Mama hugged her tightly, knowing that her little girl had taken her first step into a whole new world.
