Kruz sits cross-legged on the carpet, eyes wide with curiosity and excitement as he glances from the gifts to his parents. The morning feels different—there’s a gentle hum of something special about to happen.
Natasha and Sam exchange knowing smiles, their faces warm and a little nervous as they sit down beside Kruz.
"Kruz, we have a very special surprise for you today," Sam begins, his voice full of excitement but also gentle reassurance.
Natasha gently leads Kruz to the bassinet, her hand resting on his shoulder.
"Kruz, meet your baby sister, Mia," she says, her voice trembling with happiness. Kruz peers in, his eyes growing even wider as he sees his new sibling for the first time, noticing her tiny features and the peaceful way she sleeps.
Kruz[/@ch_3] hovers close, curiosity battling with uncertainty in his small face.]
"She looks so little, Mum. Why does she sleep so much? Is she okay?" Kruz asks, voice small but caring.
Natasha kneels beside him, her hand finding his. "She’s perfect, Kruz. She just needs a little extra rest right now because she’s still very new to the world," she replies, her smile reassuring and calm.
Sam[/@ch_2] sits down close, his tone soft and kind, wanting to help Kruz understand more.]
"Kruz, your sister has something called Down syndrome," Sam begins, pausing to let the words settle. "It means her body and brain work a bit differently from yours, and she might learn things more slowly. But she’ll love you very much, and you’ll be able to teach her so many things."
Kruz listens, his brow furrowing in thought as he watches Mia’s tiny hand curl around his finger.
Natasha[/@ch_1] pulls Kruz into a warm hug, her eyes shining.]
"Mia might need more help sometimes, and some things will be a bit harder for her. But she’ll also be really good at loving and bringing joy to our family," Natasha explains softly.
"Can I help her? Can I teach her to play with my cars and read my books?" Kruz asks, hope flickering in his eyes.
"You can, Kruz. You’re going to be the best big brother she could ever have," Sam replies, pride in his voice.
Kruz[/@ch_3] brings one of his favorite toy cars to Mia’s side. Mia stirs, her tiny lips curving in a sleepy smile.]
Kruz gently places the car beside Mia, looking up at his parents for approval. The family gathers close, their arms around each other, united in love and anticipation for the adventures to come. Outside, the sun shines brighter, as if welcoming their new chapter together.
