Leah skipped along a narrow path, her laughter mingling with the hum of nature. Her eyes sparkled with excitement as butterflies of every hue danced around her.
"I love playing with you all," she giggled, reaching out her hand for a delicate blue butterfly to rest on her finger.
Leah paused, a frown creasing her brow as she realized she didn’t recognize her surroundings.
"Oh no, I think I'm lost," she whispered, clutching her arms around herself as a chill crept into the air. The butterflies flitted around her in concern, but the path home seemed to have vanished.
Leah sat on a mossy log, her eyes turned upwards to the sky. With a trembling voice, she confided her fears to the shimmering stars, "I wish I could find my way back home." The butterflies nestled close, their wings shimmering softly in the moonlight, offering silent comfort.
The butterflies fluttered around Leah, and one, larger and more vibrant than the rest, perched on her shoulder. It was Mariposa, the bravest of them all, with wings that shone like liquid gold.
"We will guide you home," it seemed to assure her with a gentle nudge.
Leah followed, her heart buoyed by their vibrant presence. "Thank you, my friends," she murmured, her voice filled with gratitude and relief.
Leah stepped out of the woods, her heart light with happiness. Her family rushed to her side, wrapping her in warm embraces. The butterflies hovered nearby, their mission fulfilled.
"I knew you would come back," she whispered to them, her eyes shining with gratitude as they flitted away, their wings catching the sunlight one last time.
