Jonathan and William raced out of their farmhouse, eager to start the day's adventures. "I bet we can feed the chickens faster than yesterday!", Jonathan exclaimed. "You're on!", William replied, grinning as they sprinted towards the coop.
William stopped to admire the tractor, his eyes wide with fascination. "Do you think we'll ever get to drive it?", he wondered aloud. Jonathan, joining him, replied with a hopeful grin, "Maybe if we help Dad enough, he'll teach us."
Jonathan and William set about their tasks, filling troughs with feed and checking the water supply. "Careful, Daisy likes to nuzzle," Jonathan warned as a curious cow approached. Laughing, William gently patted the cow's head, enjoying the simple pleasure of their company.
William suddenly tripped, tumbling into a patch of soft clover. Jonathan doubled over with laughter before helping his brother up. "I guess I found a new way to harvest clover," William joked, brushing himself off.
Jonathan leaned back, a contented smile on his face. "I love this place," he said softly. William nodded in agreement. "It's hard work, but it feels good. Like we're part of something bigger," he mused, watching the stars begin to twinkle above.
Their father joined them, his presence a comforting anchor. Dad[/@ch_3_d]"You boys did good today,"[/@ch_3_d] he praised, ruffling their hair. "We're learning, Dad. About the farm, animals, and Jesus' love for everything," [@ch_1]Jonathan said earnestly. [@ch_3]Dad[/@ch_3_d]"That's the most important lesson,"[/@ch_3_d] their father agreed, pulling them into a warm embrace.
