Lily and Arlo wake up together, stretching and yawning. Lily rubs her eyes and looks at the mess of clothes, while Arlo sits by the side of the bed, tail thumping against the floor. "Arlo, which dress should I wear today? The one with flowers or the yellow one with the big pockets?" Lily asks, holding up both dresses for her loyal German shepherd to inspect.

Arlo noses the yellow dress, his big ears perked up in approval, and flashes a toothy grin. "Good choice, Arlo! Yellow it is!" giggles Lily, twirling as she tries to put it on. Arlo circles her, occasionally tugging gently at a sleeve with his teeth, helping her get ready for the day.
Lily sits at the table with her mummy, while Arlo waits patiently nearby, his nose twitching. "Mummy, can Arlo have a strawberry too?" Lily asks, holding one up. "Just one, and make sure he chews it well!" her mummy replies with a smile. Arlo gently takes the berry from her hand, tail wagging in delight.
Lily holds her mummy’s hand, while Arlo, on his leash, walks proudly beside her. "Look, Arlo! Apples as red as your tongue," Lily exclaims, pointing at a mountain of apples. Arlo sniffs at the fruit, his big ears alert for any interesting sounds. "Can we get carrots for Arlo?" Lily asks, and her mummy nods, adding a bunch to their basket.
Lily sits cross-legged on the blanket, handing Arlo a carrot stick. "Here you go, best helper in the world," she says, giggling as Arlo munches happily. Birds chirp in the trees while a gentle breeze ruffles Lily's hair and Arlo's fur. "This is the best day," Lily sighs contentedly.
Lily cuddles up next to Arlo, her head resting on his warm side. "Thank you for being my friend, Arlo. I love you," she whispers sleepily as her eyes begin to close. Arlo gives a soft, happy sigh, ears relaxed as he watches over her, both wrapped in the comfort of a day well spent.
