Little Bill suddenly freezes as a pale, floating figure appears near the playground, its shape indistinct and alarmingly silent.
"Aaaaah! I’m scared! Somebody help me!" Without a second thought, Little Bill turns and bolts down the sidewalk, his heart pounding.
Little Bill bursts into his backyard, slamming the gate shut and glancing over his shoulder with wide, terrified eyes.
"I have to find someone! Geo will know what to do!" he mutters, desperately searching for help.
Geo Umizoomi, cheerful and quick-thinking, looks up as Little Bill bursts in, panting and pale.
"Geo, I saw a ghost outside! It was floating and scary and I ran as fast as I could!"
"Don’t worry, Little Bill! Let’s figure out what happened together. Sometimes things aren’t what they seem."
Geo Umizoomi scans the area, searching for clues, his flashlight beam moving slowly across the grass.
"Let’s get a little closer. Stay behind me, Little Bill. Sometimes at night, things can look very different than in the daytime."
April, Little Bill’s mischievous neighbor, pops out, her eyes sparkling with playful delight.
"Gotcha, Little Bill! It was just me playing ghost!"
"You really scared me! I thought you were a real ghost," Little Bill laughs, relief washing over his face.
"See? Sometimes scary things are just our friends having fun," Geo Umizoomi says warmly.
"Next time, I’ll try not to run away so fast. Thanks for helping me, Geo!"
"Let’s all play together—no more ghosts, I promise!" The three friends share a laugh, and the playground feels bright and welcoming again.
