Little Bill lay in bed, hugging his blanket close as he stared at the shifting shadows. Suddenly, a ghostly white figure floated past his window, its outline glowing against the pale moonlight. His eyes widened in terror, and his heart thudded loudly in his chest. "Oh no! A ghost!" he gasped, scrambling out of bed and racing out of his room.
Little Bill burst into the room, breathless and wild-eyed. He spotted Geo Umizoomi, his reliable friend from Umi City, sitting on the couch. "Geo, I just saw a ghost in my room! It was right outside my window!" Geo Umizoomi, ever calm and curious, closed his laptop and stood up. "Don’t worry, Little Bill. Let’s investigate together and solve this mystery!"
Geo Umizoomi led the way, flashlight in hand, while Little Bill clung nervously to his side. Every creak and groan of the old house made Little Bill jump, but Geo’s steady presence gave him courage. "Let’s look for clues. If there’s a ghost, we’ll find out what it really is," Geo whispered. They examined the window for strange footprints, checked behind the curtains, and peered under the bed.
As Geo shined his light near the window, a muffled giggle came from behind the curtains. The two friends exchanged a look, and Geo gently pulled back the fabric. There stood April, Little Bill’s big sister, wrapped in a white bedsheet and holding a flashlight under her chin. "Boo! Did I scare you?" she laughed, dropping the sheet and flashing a wide grin.
Little Bill let out a long sigh, his fear turning to laughter. "You really got me, April! I thought you were a real ghost!" Geo Umizoomi smiled and patted his friend on the back. "Mystery solved! Sometimes things aren’t as scary as they seem," he said, and everyone giggled together.
Little Bill snuggled back into bed, feeling safe and happy. "Thanks for helping me, Geo. I’ll remember that not all surprises are spooky," he murmured sleepily. Geo Umizoomi gave him a thumbs up. "Goodnight, Little Bill. Sweet dreams—no more ghosts tonight!" The house was quiet once more as Little Bill drifted off to sleep, comforted by friendship and laughter.
