Logann bounced on her toes, her backpack almost as big as she was. Today was the first day of kindergarten, and she was ready to share her favorite songs with new friends. She loved how singing made her feel like a sunflower, bright and full of joy.
Sammy, a boy with curly hair and a friendly smile, noticed Logann looking around. "Hi, I'm Sammy! Do you like dinosaurs?" he asked, holding up a toy T-Rex. Logann nodded, humming a little tune. "I like singing! Wanna hear a song?" she offered with a bright grin.
Mrs. Lilly, their teacher, explained how everyone would share something about themselves. Logann eagerly raised her hand. "Go ahead, Logann," said Mrs. Lilly. "I love to sing! It makes me happy!" she announced, her voice like a cheerful melody.
Logann and Sammy played on the swings. "Can you teach me your song?" Sammy asked. Logann nodded, singing softly as they swung back and forth. Together, they laughed, their voices mingling like a happy chorus.
Elena, a girl with glasses, watched Logann curiously. "Why do you sing all the time?" she asked. Logann thought for a moment. "Because it makes my heart feel like it's dancing," she replied. Mrs. Lilly smiled, "Everyone has their own way to express themselves. That's what makes our class special."
Logann felt a warm sense of belonging as Sammy and Elena waved goodbye. Logann realized that her songs had found a place in the hearts of her new friends. As she skipped towards her mom waiting at the door, she hummed a tune, knowing that tomorrow would bring more melodies and smiles.
