Lumiewatched the other stars sparkle and dance, their shimmering beams reaching far across the night. She felt small and nearly invisible, wishing she could shine as brightly as her neighbors. The gentle breeze of the cosmos passed over her, and she whispered to herself, "I wish I could be important like them. Maybe then, someone would notice me."
Lumi floated quietly, watching the earth fall asleep beneath her. She wondered what it would be like to be a guiding light for someone, to have a purpose and make a difference in the great, endless sky. A feeling of longing grew in her heart, making her glow flicker even fainter.
Jesus smiled at Lumi, and His presence made the whole sky seem softer and safer. "Little star, why do you hide your light?" Lumi hesitated, surprised anyone could see her. "I’m so small and dull. No one notices me. I don’t think I matter at all," she replied softly.
"Everyone has a purpose, Lumi. You were made just the way you are for a special reason," Jesus said, His voice as soft as dawn. "Even the smallest light can brighten the darkest night. Sometimes, those who shine quietly bring the most comfort to those in need." Lumi listened, her heart filling with hope for the first time.
Jesus gently points to the earth. "Look, Lumi. Your glow brings comfort to this child, who feels alone tonight," He explains. Lumi watches as the child smiles, hugging her pillow, feeling the warmth of Lumi’s tiny light. "I never knew I could help someone," Lumi whispers in awe.
Jesus smiles, His love shining like the morning sun. "Remember, Lumi, it’s not how big your light is, but how you shine it from your heart," He says as He gently fades away. Now, Lumi drifts confidently through the sky, proud to shine in her own special way, knowing she was created with love and purpose.
