Jax rubs his eyes and groans as his alarm blares, reaching blindly for the snooze button.
Zack, already dressed and alert, tucks in the last corner of his neatly made bed, glancing over at his brother’s chaotic pile of blankets.
"You know, if you made your bed, it might not eat your socks every morning,"
"Yeah, well, maybe my bed likes me messy," Jax grumbles, pulling the covers tighter around himself.
Zack powers up his PlayStation, legs crossed on the floor, his space immaculate. Jax mutters to himself, emerging from under a heap of clothes with a crumpled t-shirt, still half asleep.
"You’re gonna be late again. Mum’s coming,"
"Why do you always have it so easy? You never get in trouble," Jax huffs, frustration coloring his voice.
Zack[/@ch_2] calm and composed, Jax flustered and messy.]
Their mum sighs, shaking her head as she steps inside.
"Mum, it’s not fair. Zack never gets in trouble, even when he’s naughty at school. But I always get caught!"
"Maybe you should try making your bed for once," Zack teases, a sly grin on his face.
Mum (Character Introduction: Kind, practical, and patient mother, always encouraging her sons to do their best.)
"Jax, sometimes starting your day with something simple, like making your bed, helps your mind feel less chaotic. It sets you up to be more organized for everything else,"
"But how does a made bed help me remember my homework?" Jax asks, doubtful.
"It’s not magic. But it’s a first step. Try it tomorrow and see how you feel," she replies, brushing his hair from his eyes.
Jax[/@ch_1] sits up, glancing at his rumpled bed, then at Zack already stretching contently on his own crisp sheets.]
Jax hesitates, then begins smoothing out his sheets, tucking in the corners and fluffing his pillow. There is a quiet satisfaction as he stands back, surveying his work.
"Hey, look at you! Didn’t think you had it in you," Zack laughs, but there’s pride in his tone.
"Feels kind of nice, actually," Jax admits, a small smile spreading across his face.
"Well, would you look at that! I think we might have a new routine,"
"I think I can get used to this," Jax says, feeling a bit more confident as he heads out the door, ready to face the day.
"Race you to the kitchen!" Zack calls, dashing past, and for the first time, Jax is right on his heels—organized, prepared, and just a little bit proud.
