Mania woke up with a smile, expecting to see her loyal puppy, Chinkoo, curled up at her feet. Instead, she found only the quilt, slightly warm where he had been. She called softly, "Chinkoo? Where are you, boy?" Her voice echoed, unanswered, as worry crept into her heart.
Mania steps outside, clutching a small torch. Her eyes fill with tears as she scans the empty yard, calling out again and again. "Chinkoo! Please come back!" The only answer is the gentle whisper of the wind through the trees, urging her forward.
Mania hesitates at the jungle’s edge, then steps bravely inside. Her torchlight flickers against lush green leaves as she moves deeper, heart pounding but determined. "Don’t be scared, Mania. Chinkoo needs you," she whispers to herself, gathering courage.
A friendly monkey drops onto the path, chattering and pointing down a winding trail. Suddenly, a brilliant parrot swoops low, its feathers flashing in the sunlight. "Go near the river! That’s where he went!" the parrot calls, its voice clear and urgent.
Mania listens intently, then hears it—a tiny, familiar bark. Her heart leaps as she runs toward the sound, eyes searching every bush. "Chinkoo! I’m here!" she cries, pushing aside branches to find her beloved puppy tangled but unharmed.
Mania hugs Chinkoo tightly, tears of joy streaming down her face. "I was so scared, but I found you! I’ll always come for you, no matter what," she says, laughing as Chinkoo licks her cheek. Together, they walk home, the jungle behind them now a place of both fear and friendship.
Mania reflects on her journey, feeling stronger and braver than before. She knows now that love and courage can carry her through any darkness. As the stars appear, she smiles and whispers, "Thank you, jungle friends. And thank you, Chinkoo, for always being my best friend."
