Max couldn’t sleep—he wiggled with glee,
Today’s the day he’d fly to NYC!
[@ch_1_d]"I’ll see tall buildings and taxis so yellow,
I bet New York’s busy and bustling and mellow!"[/@ch_1_d]
Mom zipped his coat, Dad tied his shoes tight,
Off to the airport, their hearts were so light.
The plane soared high, clouds soft like whipped cream,
Max pressed his nose to the glass, lost in a dream.
[@ch_1_d]"We’re flying above the world, so high and so far,
Will we see the city, or just one tiny star?"[/@ch_1_d]
Wheels touched down—Max cheered with a shout,
New York awaited, there wasn’t a doubt!
Max stood in Times Square, so dazzled and bright,
Colors and billboards lit up the night.
[@ch_1_d]"There’s music and laughter and so much to see!
I’ve never seen lights shine brighter than these!"[/@ch_1_d]
He danced in the glow, with a hop and a spin,
Wishing the fun would never grow thin.
Next up was Central Park, wild and wide,
With squirrels and pigeons and lakes to glide.
[@ch_1_d]"I’ll climb every rock, I’ll swing and I’ll slide,
There’s room here for running and plenty to hide!"[/@ch_1_d]
He fed the ducks with crumbs from his hand,
Max felt like a king in a magical land.
Dinosaurs towered, so fierce and so grand,
While galaxies spun in the palm of his hand.
[@ch_1_d]"Look, Mom, a T-Rex! And planets up high!
Is this a museum or just the whole sky?"[/@ch_1_d]
He marveled at mammoths and meteorites bright,
Learning and laughing from morning till night.
Clackety-clack! went the trains underground,
Max held his ticket and spun round and round.
[@ch_1_d]"We’re burrowing deep like moles in the ground—
Will the train take us up, or spin us around?"[/@ch_1_d]
With every new stop, a new world appeared,
The subway, to Max, was both thrilling and weird!
Next came Lady Liberty, proud and so tall,
Max waved from the ferry, feeling quite small.
[@ch_1_d]"She’s holding her torch for the whole world to see—
Does she wave just for me, or for all who are free?"[/@ch_1_d]
He snapped a quick picture, wind blowing his hair,
A moment so big, he wished he was there.
Max stood at the top, the city aglow,
Ant-sized taxis zipped far below.
[@ch_1_d]"I’m higher than clouds, so close to the sky!
Can I touch a star if I just reach up high?"[/@ch_1_d]
He grinned at the twinkle of buildings and cars,
Feeling at home among millions of stars.
Across Brooklyn Bridge, with cables so neat,
Max marched along, strong in his feet.
[@ch_1_d]"The river below is deep and so wide,
Let’s skip to the middle, with you by my side!"[/@ch_1_d]
Sunrise painted gold on towers and street,
A magical crossing, where old and new meet.
Tucked into bed, Max yawned with a smile,
Dreaming of New York and all its grand style.
[@ch_1_d]"I saw so much today, but there’s more I must see!
Goodnight, great city—wait for me!"[/@ch_1_d]
The city kept shining, just outside his door,
A trip full of memories, with room for more.
