Max, a spirited three-year-old boy with curly hair and an infectious giggle, stood next to his trusty sidekick, Teddy, a well-loved bear with a missing eye and a permanent smile. Together, they eyed the small blue potty chair in the corner with a mix of curiosity and skepticism.
"Do you think it's time, Teddy?" Max asked, glancing at his furry friend. Teddy, of course, remained silent, but Max nodded as though he had received the answer he was hoping for.
Max approached the potty chair cautiously, as if it might spring to life at any moment. He picked up a sticker from the chart, examining its shiny surface. "If I do it, we get more stars, Teddy! Maybe even a cookie!"
With newfound determination, Max tried to sit on the potty, his small legs dangling above the floor. "It's not so bad," he mused, adjusting his position with a wiggle.
Suddenly, Max felt the urge to go but realized he was too late. The potty chair remained pristine as a small puddle formed on the floor. Max's face fell, and he glanced at Teddy, seeking support.
"Oops," he giggled, his disappointment quickly turning into amusement. "We missed, Teddy!"
Mom, with her gentle voice, crouched next to Max, offering a reassuring hug. "That's okay, Max. Every great hero has a few missteps. Let's try again tomorrow," she encouraged, ruffling his hair.
Max nodded, feeling a surge of confidence at his mother's words. "We'll get it, right, Teddy?"
Determined, Max approached the potty chair with purpose. After a few moments, a triumphant shout echoed through the room. "I did it! I did it, Teddy!" he cheered, jumping up with glee.
Mom, along with Dad and Sister Lucy, joined Max in his victory dance. "We're so proud of you, Max!" she exclaimed, planting a kiss on his cheek.
Max beamed, holding Teddy close. "We did it together, buddy," he whispered, feeling the warmth of his family's love and the sweetness of his success.
