Bob the Mouse stretches and yawns, his red shirt bright against his soft brown fur. The gentle scent of acorns and wildflowers drifts in through the open window. Today feels like an adventure about to begin.
"Good morning, Acorn Woods!"
Bob the Mouse sits next to his big sister, Mary, who is busy pouring honey onto her toast. Across from him are his Dad, wearing round spectacles, and his Mom, with a cheerful apron. The aroma of nut porridge floats up as everyone gathers their bowls.
"Can I have extra strawberries today, Mom?"
"Of course, Bob! A big day needs a big breakfast," replies Mom with a smile.
"Eat up, everyone. We have chores to do before playtime," Dad adds, his eyes twinkling.
Bob the Mouse sweeps crunchy leaves into tidy piles, his tail swishing with effort. Mary giggles as she balances tiny acorns in her paws, and Dad gathers sticks for the fire. Mom hangs bright blue sheets on a line, fluttering in the gentle breeze.
"Look, Bob! I can carry three acorns at once!" Mary calls, her eyes shining.
"Wow, Mary! You’re the strongest mouse in Acorn Woods," says Bob, beaming.
The siblings race through the grass, chasing butterflies and laughing together. Mary lifts Bob onto the swing, giving him a gentle push as he soars up, paws outstretched. The woods echo with joyful squeaks as they invent games and share secrets.
"Higher, Mary, higher! I can see the whole woods from up here!"
"Hold on tight, little brother!"
Bob the Mouse sits between his parents, cheeks rosy from play. Mary tells a story about a brave mouse knight, and everyone listens, enchanted. The comforting clink of spoons and gentle laughter fill the air.
"What a wonderful day we had," says Mom, squeezing Bob’s paw.
"Let’s remember to thank the woods for all its gifts," Dad adds softly.
Mary tucks her little brother in, whispering goodnight. Outside, fireflies dance among the leaves, and the distant call of an owl lulls the family to sleep. Bob closes his eyes, feeling safe and happy in his tree home.
"Goodnight, Woods," Bob whispers, drifting into dreams as the forest grows quiet and still.
