Mila, a spirited young girl with a head full of curls, bounced out of bed, her heart racing with excitement. It was her birthday, and all she could think about was wearing her special green dress, which she'd been eagerly anticipating for weeks. She flung open her closet, only to find it missing. Panic began to creep in as she searched frantically.
Mila tore through her belongings, checking under her bed, rummaging through her toy box, and even peering into her backpack. Each spot was a potential hiding place, but the dress was nowhere to be found. Her frustration mounted, a familiar feeling for Mila, who often struggled with organization due to her ADHD.
"Mom! I can’t find my birthday dress!" Mila called out, her voice tinged with frustration. Her mother entered the room, taking in the scene with a sigh.
Her mom looked around and said, "Mila, your room is so messy! It’s hard to find things when everything is all over the place. Let’s clean up first, one step at a time." "But that will take forever!" Mila groaned. Her mom, ever resourceful, suggested a game: "Not if we make it fun! Let’s set a timer for five minutes and see how much we can clean up!"
Mila found herself energized by the challenge. They raced against the clock, picking up clothes, organizing toys, and stacking books. As the timer beeped, a glimpse of green caught Mila's eye from under the desk.
"My dress!" Mila exclaimed, pulling it free with a triumphant grin. Her mom beamed at her, saying, "See? When we stay organized, we don’t lose important things." Mila nodded, realizing the truth in her mom's words. "I guess you’re right. Maybe I should try to keep my room clean all the time!" With her dress found and her room tidy, Mila was finally ready to celebrate her birthday.
