Millie tightens her shoelaces, her eyes sparkling with excitement. By her side, Wanda, a small brown pug with an eager nose, and Pattie, a sleek black French Bulldog with a mischievous glint in her eye, bounce in anticipation. The trio stands in front of their cozy house, a map clutched in Millie's hand and a backpack full of snacks and tools ready for whatever the day might bring.
Millie kneels beside a park bench, unrolling the old map. Wanda sniffs eagerly at a scrap of paper tucked beneath the bench, tail wagging furiously. "Look, girls! The first clue! It says, ‘Where the lions guard, treasure is never far behind.’" Pattie cocks her head, then barks as if to say, "That must be the library!" With giggles and wagging tails, they set off, dodging a pair of skateboarding teenagers and almost toppling a stack of newspapers.
Wanda leads the way, her nose pressed to the ground, snuffling around the lion statue’s paw. Millie circles the statue, running her fingers along the grooves in the stone. "Woof! Woof!" Wanda yelps, pawing at a small, brass key wedged between the lion’s toes. "You found it, Wanda! I wonder what this unlocks," Millie exclaims, eyes wide with wonder.
Pattie can’t resist and noses open a crate, sending a shower of muffins tumbling to the ground. "Oops! Better eat them before anyone sees," Pattie seems to say, chomping down on a blueberry muffin. Millie laughs, whispering, "Pattie, you’re going to get us caught! Quick, let’s leave a muffin for the baker as a thank you," tucking one beside the door before they scamper away, giggling all the while.
Millie kneels at the base of the tree, the brass key trembling in her hand. With Wanda and Pattie watching eagerly, she uncovers a tiny wooden box nestled among the roots. "Here goes nothing!" She fits the key into the lock, and with a satisfying click, the box opens to reveal glittering marbles, a faded photograph of three adventurers, and a note that reads, ‘The real treasure is friendship.’

Millie looks at Wanda and Pattie, her heart full. "What would I do without you two? Every adventure is better with you by my side," she says softly. The dogs nuzzle close, tails wagging, as they disappear into the welcoming glow of home, already dreaming of tomorrow’s adventures.
