Millie skipped down the corridor, her curly hair bouncing with each step and her eyes alight with excitement. She paused to wave at a shy boy standing alone by the drinking fountain, his hands fiddling nervously with the straps of his backpack. "Hi there! I don’t think we’ve met. I’m Millie—do you want to walk to class together?"
Millie reached her desk and noticed a new girl, her head bowed low, quietly unpacking her things. Without hesitation, Millie slid into the seat beside her, smiling warmly. "I love your backpack! Want to sit with us at lunch? Everyone’s welcome in our group!"
Millie spotted a student in a wheelchair watching from beneath a shady tree, her eyes lingering longingly on the games. Millie jogged over, her sneakers crunching on the gravel. "Hey! Want to join us for hopscotch? We can make a new game together—maybe one with wheels and chalk art!"
Millie noticed a boy with a different accent sitting quietly with his tray, eyes darting nervously around the room. She motioned to her friends, scooping up her lunch, and approached him with a grin. "There’s always room at our table. Come tell us about your favorite things—we love learning new stuff!"
Millie darted from booth to booth, making sure everyone found a partner and a place to belong. She cheered the loudest for each new friend who tried something brave, her joy contagious. "See? Isn’t it amazing when everyone’s included? This is what makes our school special!"
Millie lingered by the door, heart full, waving goodbye to old and new friends alike. She glanced over her shoulder at the emptying hall and whispered to herself, "Everyone’s welcome in Millie’s world, and that’s how it should always be."
