Milo the Mouse peeks out from behind a dandelion, his whiskers twitching with excitement. He carries a little red backpack and looks around, spotting the winding path that leads towards home.
"Today, I’m going to find my way home all by myself!" he says, stepping bravely onto the path.
Milo tiptoes into the forest, his eyes wide as he listens to the birds singing above. Suddenly, he hears a rustle nearby and stops, his heart thumping.
"Who’s there?" he calls out, peeking behind a log. A friendly ladybug crawls into view and waves a tiny leg.
Milo approaches the brook and sees the bridge. He feels a bit nervous—the water looks deep and quick. Just then, a blue butterfly flutters by, landing on the railing.
"It’s okay, Milo. You can do it! Just take it one step at a time," the butterfly encourages. With a deep breath, Milo crosses the bridge, feeling proud of himself.

Milo pauses, unsure which way to go. He remembers the smell of home and listens for familiar sounds. Suddenly, he hears the distant ringing of his mother’s bell.
"If I follow that sound, I’ll find my way!" he says, scampering towards the gentle ringing.
Milo races up the path and bursts through the door. His mother greets him with a big hug, her eyes sparkling with pride.
"I’m so glad you’re home, Milo! You are so brave and clever," she says, wrapping him in a cozy blanket.

"Every adventure is better when it ends at home," he whispers, before drifting off to sleep.
