Milo hopped onto his bed, kicking his legs in anticipation. Every night, he slipped into his favorite pajamas and felt the tingling magic that carried him away. But tonight, as he rummaged through his blankets, he realized his pajamas were missing.
"Where could they be? I can’t start my adventure without them!"
Milo searched every nook, under his pillow, behind the toy chest, even under the bed where dust bunnies reigned. With each failed attempt, his heart sank. He sat down in his rocket-ship pajamas from last year, now too small, hugging his knees.
"If I can’t find my pajamas, does that mean… no adventure tonight?"
Milo closed his eyes, squeezing them tight, and whispered to himself.
"Maybe the magic isn’t in the pajamas. Maybe it’s in me," he murmured, letting his thoughts drift beyond the walls. He imagined the floor rippling into a sea of blue, with toy ships sailing by and dolphins leaping through the waves.
Milo laughs, his worries forgotten, as he soars from one magical land to the next. He floats past cookie mountains and rides a unicorn through a candy cane forest. The more he imagines, the more vivid the worlds become, each adventure grander than the last.
"I can go anywhere—pajamas or not!"
Milo takes a deep breath, feeling proud and a little sleepy. He follows the starlit bridge, letting the familiar sights of his room draw him back. The warmth of his blanket and the soft hum of the night welcome him home.
"I think I found the real magic after all," he whispers, snuggling under the covers.
With a smile on his lips, Milo dreams on, knowing that his imagination will always find a way. No matter where his pajamas are, the journey never truly ends—as long as he believes.
