Milo, a lively boy with tousled hair and bright blue eyes, leaps out of bed, already dressed in his favorite red jersey. Today is the big day—the school Soccer Power Play. He dashes to the kitchen, where the scent of toast and eggs fills the air. "Mom, do you think I’ll have enough energy for the big game?"
Mom, gentle and encouraging, sets a bowl of oatmeal in front of Milo. "You need the right fuel, champ. Try some fruit and oatmeal for lasting energy." Milo’s eyes flicker to the pastries, but he remembers his coach’s advice on healthy eating. "Okay, I want to play my best!" He chooses banana slices and yogurt, feeling proud of his decision.
Coach Ramirez, a tall woman with a whistle around her neck and a contagious smile, gathers the team in a circle. "Who ate a power breakfast this morning?" she asks. Milo raises his hand, beaming. "Great! The right foods give us energy to play hard and smart!"
Sara, Milo’s best friend and teammate, nudges him. "Let’s show them what we’ve got!" Milo sprints down the field, feeling light and focused. Each pass and kick is sharp, and he notices he doesn’t tire as quickly as before.
Coach Ramirez gestures to the snacks. "Remember, healthy choices help you finish strong. Water and fruit are your best friends today!" Milo wipes his forehead and chooses water and apples, resisting the urge to grab candy. Sara grins. "Way to go, Milo!"
Milo feels a surge of energy. He remembers his healthy breakfast and snacks, pushing him forward. With a swift kick, the ball soars into the net. The crowd erupts in cheers, and his teammates sweep him into a joyous hug.
Coach Ramirez raises her voice over the cheers. "You all played your hearts out—and made smart choices. That’s the real win today!" Milo grins, feeling proud and energized. "I’m going to eat like this every game day!"
Milo writes, “Healthy foods gave me the power to play my best. I had fun, felt strong, and even scored the winning goal.” He smiles, already dreaming of the next Power Play.
