Tusa rubs her eyes, stretching beneath her quilt while the air carries a faint scent of morning dew.
Tuli, still curled up, peeks out from under her blanket, blinking at the brightness.
"Tuli, wake up! We’ll be late if we don’t hurry,"
"Just five more minutes, Tusa. It’s so warm here."
Tusa squeezes toothpaste onto her brush, making silly faces to encourage Tuli to join in.
"You always make brushing fun," she giggles, foaming bubbles on her chin.
"That’s what big sisters are for!"
Tuli fumbles with her buttons, earning a gentle helping hand from Tusa.
"Let me help, Tuli. You’ll get it soon,"
"I want to do it myself next time," she declares with a determined pout.
Tusa takes a big bite, swinging her legs under the chair, while Tuli picks out berries from her bowl.
"Do you think we’ll finish the science project today?"
"If we work together, we definitely will,"
Tusa tucks a note into Tuli's pocket for encouragement.
"Remember, if you get nervous, just read this," she whispers.
"You always know how to make me feel brave,"
Tuli glances at Tusa, smiling wide as they begin their short walk to school.
"Let’s see who can spot the most red cars today!"
"You’re on!"
