Tommy was sitting on the porch steps, his eyes fixed on the driveway as he eagerly awaited the arrival of his older brother. Jake, his big brother, was coming home after a long time away. "I can't wait to show him my new bike," Tommy thought, his heart thumping with anticipation.
"Tommy!" Jake shouted, his voice filled with warmth as he opened his arms wide. Tommy dashed forward, practically leaping into his brother's embrace. The world seemed to pause for a moment as they hugged tightly, the bond between them as strong as ever.
"Remember when we built this?" Tommy asked, pointing to the treehouse. Jake chuckled, recalling the days spent hammering nails and painting walls. "Yeah, I think we used more paint on ourselves than the walls," he replied with a laugh. They climbed up, their laughter echoing through the trees.
"I've started playing soccer, just like you used to," Tommy said proudly. Jake listened intently, nodding with encouragement. "That's awesome, Tommy. I bet you're really good," Jake said, giving his brother a playful nudge.
"I promise to visit more often," Jake said, breaking the comfortable silence. Tommy looked at his brother, a smile playing on his lips. "I'll hold you to that," he replied, knowing that their bond would endure despite the distance.
"See you soon, little bro," Jake called out as he pulled out of the driveway. Tommy watched until the car disappeared around the corner, a warm feeling in his heart. As he turned to head inside, he knew that the memories they shared today would keep them connected until they met again.
